How is the Early Action gonna turn out this year?

This will be the second year since Harvard has reinstated the EA program. How was it last year? Was it necessarily "easier" to get into Harvard through early? Will that trend - or lack thereof = continue this year?

I've heard many stories that Harvard specially reserves certain spots in the freshman class for legacies, athletes, etc. I've also heard that this "reservation" process is more pronounced during the EA cycle; in short, the ~12-15% EA acceptance rate is in fact a lie because at least a fifth of those accepted were special cases.

Is this true? On a separate note, does the Admissions Office evaluate EA applicants differently than RD applicants? Do they still vote in Committee after approval from a subcommittee?
