Hey everyone,

So I'm hoping you all have some fine tips about figuring out one's own shot at getting into different schools, because despite trawling through this forum, others, and of course deeply delving into university websites, I still can't get a lock on how competitive (or not) I am, in a general and specific sense.

Generally, I'm wondering for myself (and others I'm sure) what's most important to emphasize in applications.

Specifically, I'm wondering about my chances for an MA in IR at some good schools: LSE, SAIS, SIPA, ESIS, Fletcher... and has anyone heard anything about the University of Toronto?

Academically I'm pretty strong, 3.72 GPA, magna cum laude, went through my college honors program and wrote an honors thesis on comp politics, got into Phi Beta Kappa, plus I have fluency in Japanese after study abroad at a top-ranked JP university and I'm starting to learn Thai (all of which is in transcripts).. My only deficiency is in stats/econ courses, but I think I can make up for it with a strong quant GRE score?

I'm a little weaker in job experience/internships (I graduated '09) thanks to the economy.

Anyone have any thoughts? I'd appreciate the collective wisdom of the masses, here. Thanks!
