Gay Life at Holy Cross

Hi everyone, I'm applying to Holy Cross, but I'm wondering if there is a significant gay population there? I know it's an open-minded Catholic school, but I'm still not sure if it's the right place for gay students.

This article in a Boston gay magazine seemed to indicate Holy Cross was pretty accepting: [Keeping the Faith :: GLBT students face adversity at Catholic colleges :: EDGE Boston](http://www.edgeboston.com/index.php?ch=news&sc=glbt&sc3=&id=52747)

I am currently having the same fear. From what I’ve heard, no one has a problem with gay students and there is groups for them, but there’s like a secret group and I don’t know I just wonder if like gay students will feel comfortable on campus. I feel other students would treat everyone with respect, but I wonder if they’d just me or not

Hey guys, I go to Holy Cross and while, like you, I hear mixed things. I know there’s a lot of support, but I feel that there are also many obstacles. Holy Cross doesn’t have the “friendliest” social scene; you either fit in or you don’t. And if you don’t, best of luck! cause it could be a lonely four years. As cynical as this sounds, I am sure there are many nice and thoughtful cliques (I use this term because I find Holy Cross to be even more cliquey than high school), however, the fact of the matter is that most of the school isn’t like that. Most people are elitist, bourgeois, hyenas. Remember this is my testimony and you should keep in mind that everyone has a different experience, but I believe that if you are looking for an open-minded, accepting, and happy student body, you should not look here.

If I could go back to high school and reapply knowing what I know now, I would not be applying to Holy Cross. Best of Luck and I hope everything works out for you!

Hey guys, based on my experience, Holy Cross has a very friendly social scene. I find the student body to be a diverse and accepting one. The students on the hill are a very understanding and thoughtful group of people. I personally have not come across any cliques here at the college, I believe we have a very integrated community.

I think that Margaret is concerned that the Gay Life is to persuasive at Holy Cross.

no actually I am going to be attending Holy Cross next year but I’m somewhat uncertain about my sexuality and I know it’s bad but I’m not always comfortable with it right now so I wondered if Holy Cross would be a bad environment for me but oh well

C’mon-Are you just trying to get a reaction. We’ll you got one. Here it is. Jesus loves you. The majority of students could care less, and those that do should know better than to cast a stone. Sorry but if your looking for more of a reaction, try a bible belt school.
