In one of my essays I talk about "mankind", as in all of humanity. I also use the terms "humankind" and "humanity" in my essay, but used "mankind" and "man" to avoid repeating words and having stale diction.

Do you think there's a chance that someone reading my essay may be a feminist and take offense? Should I reword my essay to account for this or is mankind a pretty widely accepted term meaning "all of humanity"?

Thanks in advance.
