<p>general studies is not for ppl straight out of high school. your choices are probably Columbia college and school of engineering and applied sciences (SEAS)</p>
<p>General Studies has a higher admission rate, but it's designed for older students, or at least those who have been out of school for at least a year. It doesn't guarantee housing and many GS students go part time while also working or raising kids.</p>
