Geology Major, Looking for information

<p>Looking for anyone in the Geology program in UCSB. I am thinking of majoring in that because it really interests me. </p>

<p>How is the program?
Is there "field trips"? (During summer, breaks, or weekends)
The faculty knowlegable? (Looking for more of the vibe you get from the professors)
Do you actually enjoy learning about geology?
Do you think not being in Texas is going to hold you back from getting a good job?</p>

<p>Thanks for any help that you can provide, I was just looking through all the majors and Geology interested me the most.</p>

<p>im pretty sure ucsb earth sciences have field trips within its curriculum</p>

<p>UCSB is surrounded by the Santa Ynez mountains on one side and the ocean on the other. RA offers to take us hiking, and clubs do too. A friend of mine with his class went on a field trip to the ocean and another went to the mountains so yes there are. Know nothing else about geology, sorry.</p>
