Hi! It looks like your ACT score puts you at the top 75% admitted which will definitely help you in the admissions process. Your GPA is a little low, but your ACT score may balance that out. You have demonstrated leadership in your ec’s and have shown interest in business so I think you have a chance! Make sure to apply early. As for financial aid, Georgetown is pretty good for that and puts a cap at around $20,000 for student loans, but with your income you may get a free ride. Best of luck!!
@laurenpch1 as for my essay I will use the death of my mother and how the effects of that have only made me more motivated to succeed in this dog eat dog world. Good essay or not?
@NashSaddle I want to work for goldman sachs because it has the best collaborative workforce ever. I want to work with people who have a different approach to situations.
@Mtttho I wouldn’t say either of those things is necessarily true about goldman. Regardless, Georgetown seems like a small reach. You mentioned Wharton elsewhere, and that seems like a very far reach. Apply to Stern and Ross also.
Georgetown is a reach for almost all applicants. Your ACT and GPA, however, will hopefully earn your application a close look if you also have strong SAT Subject Test scores.
Try to do as well as you can your first grading period this academic year. Colleges in general and Georgetown, in particular, like students who demonstrate academic improvement.
Write compelling essays; ask your teachers to critique them; then polish your essays until they sparkle like gems. Cultivate close and genuine relationships with the teachers who will write your recommendations. Continue to demonstrate passion in your extracurricular activities.
