Georgetown Coffee House

the only email i get is the messages from people

bumping this back up... it's nice to have around.

Calidan, I think you constitute like 75% of the posts on the gtown board lol.

I think so, too. I figured out a while ago what percent of my posts were on the Gtown board, and it was about 65%. Since then, I've only been posting on this board. So, it's probably around 70%, which is 70% of 943, which is about 520. That's about 12% of all Gtown posts- pretty good for one person!

I constitute about 12% of pton's posts...which is 20,500ish now! lol

WOW! That's so much. Do you still post there anymore?

It's funny that we're kind of parallels of each other on different boards. :)

lol yea I think there's one on every board. Like, silver_wave to me, is the equivalent on the Columbia board. There's definitely more posting going on during the early round because each person is so dedicated to their one school. My interests are much more scattered now. I still post on princeton occasionally, whenever something interests me, but not really in the same, chatting with your friends/community way, where we used to ramble and turn every serious thread into a lounge. sigh good ol days lol

I know- I read many-a-lounge on the P'ton forum. I imagine it really isn't the same, which totally sucks. But now you're making a lot of new friends instead of immersing yourself in the Princeton cult!

lol I know! I'm loving it at Georgetown and Yale the most right now (Brown board seems kinda dead...as it's always been...)

Thanks for rescuing me Calidan! I remember you went to pton and invited me over.

I remember that! that was a fun conversation. And yeah, the Brown board is definitely dead (I don't know why- it's such a cool/great school!).

Yale is pretty fun, but there's still some wreckage/leftover bitterness from the massacre (IMO). Though not as much as on the Columbia board (which is always a soap opera). :)

I will never travel over to Harvard shudder lol plus they have no community! They came over to the pton board when they needed some lovin'
they just have a whole bunch of "what are my chances"

Is columbia a soap opera? I haven't really participated in anything there except pretty technical questions. I did see some flaming going on tho lol.

Well when it was getting down to decision time, everyone turned on one-another. It was quite entertaining- kind of like a zoo. People on that board secretely don't want the other posters to get in, that's the feeling I got from them.

And I've never really gone to the Harvard board- I've got no reason to. And it totally seems hollow to me, if you know what I mean.

Oh I definitely know what you mean.

I think the columbia atmosphere is quite appropriate for the school lol. They're known as the one that doesn't really have a community or school spirit...apathy of New York perhaps?

Probably. I don't think I'd reeally ever want to go there b/c it's so competitive! Same reason I wouldn't go to Penn, even if I got in (unless I got like a 1/2 scholarship or something).

I'm applying to Columbia. I feel like it'd be like my school in a college setting, but I'm assured by people who go there from my school that it's not the case. People seem to like it a lot though so I'm sure it'd be great if I go there. I'd much rather go for law school though, because you inherently have less community in a law school and the job opportunities in New York are amazing.

I'm thinking about law school! I think being a lawyer would be pretty cool.

I was thinking Stanford law, maybe Columbia. Gtown's pretty good, too. I don't know. Grad school et al. are going to have to be my new obsession after I go to college!

oh and if i decide to become a journalist, i'll go to columbia for journalism grad school.

and while i'm trying to get to 1,000, i'm helping gtown get posts, too! i wanna at least beat cornell.

How far are we from that?

we've got about 2440 to go, but they're the closest one to us in the top 25/ivy league forums. next would be stanford at 2815 abvove us.

you think if i make a 1000th post thread it'll be deleted by the mods? they've been pretty stickler-ish about that stuff lately...
