Ok, I'm not gonna lie. The only reason I started this thread was because I kept reading "Hopeful Hoya Poetry" as "Hopeful Hoya Party," and then I thought, "Hey. Wouldn't it be cool if we had a HH Party thread?" So here you go.

Anyway this seems like a good place to vent and post meaningless anxious rambling statements. Or talk about happier things, like winter break and being done with college applications. Either way, it's all good.

I'll start- I cannot freaking wait until winter break, when all my applications will (hopefully!) be done, and I'll spend my entire week and a half chilling, eating sushi and ice cream, going to the mall (a place I haven't been since last May, no joke), and having some good times with friends (and not have to think about college!!) What about you guys? Any big plans?

I have a question for everyone:
-Of those of you who applied early, who will definitely go if accepted? i.e. How many of you will leave it at that, and not apply anywhere else?

I'm applying elsewhere (and dying under the stress of all these apps). I love Georgetown with all my heart, but there are other schools I love too, and if I didn't apply elsewhere, I'd always wonder "What if..."

Okay, I'm gonna answer a question for once! If i get accepted, I will apply to two or three schools just to try for financial aid options. It will be hard, though, because I won't be as motivated to do the applications. Although it would be MUCH harder to do the eight applications I plan on doing if I get deferred. We'll see!

Abb- same here. I'm applying to 3 schools (2 of which are on the common app.) if I get accepted. If I'm deferred, then I'm applying to 8-10 schools. Eww...

However, I will most likely go to Georgetown (unless I get a full scholarship somewhere else or something). Hoya Saxa!

I'm applying to 8 total schools, but most of them are just to see if I can get money. A couple are just for the hell of it, just to see if i could get in (Harvard and Brown), 2 others i like and wouldnt mind going to, and 3 safeties, to see if I can get a full ride or something.

Like someone else said, I'll most likely go to Georgetown unless i get a full ride somewhere else.

Oh man, I can't wait for my 4 week vacation!!!

wow! I only get 2 and a half. In terms of colleges, I've already applied RD to a few schools, just because I'm not too sure about financial aid. In the mean time though, I plan on doing a ton of scholarships over break, esp. if I get in. I can't promise I'd go to Georgetown, but I think it'd be worth the debt. You only go to college once, it might as well be where you most want to go, right?

2 and a half weeks? Geez, that's not bad either. Why oh why does my school SUCK so much? I get a week and 2 days. Yes, that's right kids, a week and 2 days. :(

ouch. Well, my school instituted a policy where we have NO 1/2 days, from August till May. So I think for that we got an extra few days. We start on the 17th, and go till the 4th, so hopefully I can celebrate all through break!

Wow, that's so nice. Well enjoy all your time! I, on the other hand, will be drowning in a sea of self-pity about my generally crappy school. Speaking of which, I have to go study for my FIFTH test in 3 days. Ouch, right? I wish the teachers would just lay off the homework and tests, just for these 2 weeks in December. That's all I need, seriously. But NOOOO, of course not. I've had more homework, essays, and tests these past few weeks than I've ever had before. So much for getting apps done during the week. :(

I'll probably eliminate the schools I'm not particularly dying to go to, NYU and maybe Tufts. I'll apply everywhere else because I need to have financial aid options.
