Georgetown Recommendation Letter

Hey all,

I had a question about the recommendations. I know they require one academic teacher, your counselor, and you have the option to add another recommender. Does this optional recommender have to be a teacher?

No, I don’t think so. I used my boss, because I presumed it’s like the Common App’s additional recommender. Good luck!

It doesn’t have to be another teacher. I would definitely look to get a third letter from someone who offers a unique perspective not touched on your app yet (although that very well could be another teacher). I’m in the SFS now and remember my third application was from the gubernatorial nominee I worked for in 2010 which provided a lot of personal insight into the political aspect of my application whereas my teacher and councilor could not do so.

@Cedardog‌ thanks! Actually, since you’re in the SFS. I hate those chance me things, but would you be so inclined as to take a look at my resume?

I’m in the college and wouldn’t mind looking it over real quick also if you wanted.
