I really like Georgetown, and it has been my dream since 8th grade. Just in case I’m not accepted, what are some schools a lot like it?
Bumpitty-bump-bump
That really depends on what you liked about it. If it’s proximity to politics and location, American and GW are similar. If you’re looking at campus size or program, it can differ pretty drastically. You’ll have to be more specific.
I like the vibes and its foreign service programs! @masquerade98
Definitely American and GW then. American has a more similar campus, but both of them have excellent International Relations programs. You can also look at Tufts, which has a really good IR program too. Georgetown’s SFS is unique, but you can find pretty good substitutes.
Villanova may be similar. A similar vibe/campus may be found at Hamilton, Middlebury though these are not in a city.
Thanks so much! @masquerade98 @preppedparent
For different reasons, GW, American, maybe UVa, Williams, Hamilton, Middlebury, Trinity (CT).
Thanks! @merc81
The IR program at Middlebury is top notch!
Thanks! @urbanslaughter
In terms of similar campus feel, I’ve often heard that Princeton is probably the closest, despite the different locations and many other facets. Other schools with a somewhat comparable vibe and focus on IR, in addition to the ones already mentioned above (Tufts and the other two DC schools definitely come up a lot), include Johns Hopkins, William & Mary, Denver, Claremont McKenna, Northwestern, Boston College, and Swarthmore.
Thanks! @dzleprechaun
You mean the University of Denver, correct? @dzleprechaun
Yes @HopefulHoya1103 In addition to being in a major city, Denver is home to the Josef Korbel School of International Studies.
I’ll definitely look at it! @dzleprechaun
