I am majoring in biological sciences. Both are OOS for me except I received 14k in financial aid from OSU but I am still waiting on financial aid from Georgia. I haven't visited Ohio State yet but I loved Georgia when I went. Both are big schools which I want and both have good sports programs/school spirit. Which school has a better biology program and which one would be a better school to help me find a career due to relations. Also which school has a better on campus experience? Thank you all for helping me choose a place to spend 4+ years of my life.

I am majoring in biological sciences. Both are OOS for me except I received 14k in financial aid from OSU

What was the breakdown of that aid?

Pell Grant?
OSU grant?
OSU merit scholarship?
Loans?
Work study?

which one would be a better school to help me find a career due to relations

What does that mean?

They’re both big state schools, the experience likely would be similar and both would be fine for bio. What are you going to do with that degree?

14k in merit scholarships. And “better school to help me find a career due to relations”, what I meant was alumni relationship outside of school and research opportunities. Also I plan on graduate school for veterinary science.

You want to become vet?

Money may make your decision for you. Does this question translate into: “Which one would be a better school in which to make future career contacts?” If so, then ask yourself where you want to live after college. The Southeast? Go to Georgia. The Midwest? Ohio State.

It’s not fair to make a decision until you hear back from Georgia’s financial aid office, but either way I’d lean towards Georgia.

The confusing part is the career goal. If the goal is vet school, then the school’s alumni network for jobs won’t matter.

Given the low paid job prospects of biology, and the cost of vet school, you may want to keep a closer eye on the net price after grant aid when you are comparing offers (do you have any other lower cost offers?).

“Better campus experience” is subjective. That’s for you to decide. Alumni relations depend on the region - Ohio State, I think, has a slightly more national reach because of a larger national reputation, but if you decide to settle in the Southeast obviously the Georgia alumni network eill be more important. Both schools have good biology programs.

This decision should be made based on financial aid, given that the schools are so similar.
