Does GATech accept GED students?

I don’t know, but applicants with a GED may be treated similarly to those who are home-schooled, as outlined here: [Home School | Admission](<a href=“Blow the Whistle! (404 error: page not found) | Undergraduate Admission”>Blow the Whistle! (404 error: page not found) | Undergraduate Admission) I would contact admissions. They will be able to give you a better answer. [| Admission](<a href=“Blow the Whistle! (404 error: page not found) | Undergraduate Admission”>Blow the Whistle!
It is unlikely that someone with no high school diploma or previous college coursework would be competitive for admission without some sort of very convincing story. I would suggest you look into Regent’s Engineering Transfer Program (RETP). [Regents’ Engineering Transfer Program (RETP) | Admission](<a href=“Blow the Whistle!
I’m currently in college.

If you are transferring, don’t worry about it. I’m a GED student planning to transfer as well. I’m transferring through the RETP, and it’s my understanding that they won’t even require I take the SAT as long as I meet the grade and course requirements.

What is your intended major?

Mechanical Engineering

Yeah, if you are doing engineering, I really recommend the RETP. There are a lot of schools around that have it.

Basically you go to another school with laxer admission requirements, and you get your credits for a few general things like English out of the way, do all your math, all your science, and some engineering classes. If you get a B in all the important ones, and average a B overall, your school’s RETP adviser signs off on your transfer, and you get into any engineering program you want at Tech, regardless of other test scores or HS GPA. My adviser claims they’ve never had someone he signed off on turned down, either from Tech in general or even his requested major.

Here is a link to the list of schools that offer it:

Good luck. Hopefully your school is already on the list. If not, there are schools on that list that literally don’t ask for anything else if you have a GED.

I attend Middle Georgia State College. It’s Macon State College & Middle Georgia College after they merged this year. Good luck indeed.

Sweet. Talk to an adviser as soon as you can, though. Before it’s too late to choose your fall schedule. It looks like the merger has left your school’s online presence in a bad way, and you should find out what classes and requirements are, so as to avoid wasting any time.

Georgia Tech does not accept GEDs

GTJacket: The OP would be applying as a transfer student, so his or her GED would be irrelevant. Tech does accept transfer students who have GEDs.
