My guess is no but certainly confirm through the school. Is there programming for parents or is it student focused? Good luck to your student!
There are programs for both parents and students on both days, but they mentioned only about student accommodation. It just says, parents can stay after dinner on Friday to talk to other parents. And we’re supposed to be back there the next day at 11:15. I guess we’ll find out…
Do the Stamps semifinalists who do not make it to the Finals also receive some merit?

We were wondering same and looked like the wording on the website indicates that those invited receive something. Have you heard otherwise?
They get the Gold Scholarship. Not sure what that entails.

Looks like a tuition waiver to in state
Edited to add - didn’t read closely. No merit for semi finalists. Those who attend finalist weekend get either Stamps or Gold
Are you referring to one of the 300+ semifinalists or the 100 finalists who attend the interview weekend?
If your student attends the Stamps Scholars weekend they will either get Stamps (approx 40 kids) or the Gold Scholarship (approx 60 kids).
The semifinalists who do not progress to the scholars weekend do not receive an automatic scholarship.
Out of the 100 finalists, 40 will receive SPS and 60 will get Gold.
Thanks for clarification. I didn’t read closely!
@Parent-in-Georgia Word on the street is that it was a great weekend, even though I’m certain it is stressful for interviewees and pre to
Since it’s still fresh, any advice for future applicants for interview weekend?
FWIW - once at Tech, there is little/no difference for SPS vs Gold Scholars at a personal level. They all know and hang out with each other. Tech is hard, and the kids band together to lift each other up!
It was a pretty busy weekend. Parents and students were separated after the first tour. Each group had their own agenda. Of course, the student group had interviews (one group and one individual) on the second day. My daughter said the interviews went very well and she said all the students were very friendly and she had a great time. There’s nothing to prepare for the interviews. They want to get to know the student and their leadership skills, passion etc… She was really tired at the end of the second day and was ready to go home Overall it was a great experience and well organized. Results come out this Friday. 40 Stamps and 60 Gold.
Good luck to everyone.
Thank you for sharing your experience. Are you saying that 40 students will get Stamps scholarship? Or 40 students become finalists and will be forwarded to interview with Foundation?
Check back 5-6 posts….
100 attend finalists weekend… 40 receive Stamps and the remainder get Gold. Both offer wonderful opportunities and perks in addition to the financial award.
Last weekend was the finalists weekend. Out of the 100 finalists who attended, 40 will get Stamps and 60 will get Gold.
Here’s the good news: a good number of the finalists haven’t committed to Tech yet. And many of them have acceptances and scholarships from other schools as well. All scholarship recipients will have to respond by April 21st. If they choose to attend elsewhere, then their scholarships will be given to someone else. So, there’s still a chance for others.
Good luck to everyone.
My bad. I did not realize this is a finalist weekend. In other schools, you have interview with your college first and then get forwarded to foundation for a finalist interview. Looks like Georgia Tech has a different process.
It is similar. There were initially 300 or so semi-finalists that were interviewed asynchronously in late Jan/early Feb. Of those, 100 were invited to attend the finalist weekend (which involves the foundation). You can read about it here.
I got it now. Thank you for clarifying.
