<p>Now kind of mad that I did not goto FSU for grad school.</p>
<p>Also, Atlanta’s a huge city with tons of fun wrapped up (and lots of angry katana-wielding grad students). Is Urbana-Champaign the same? I thought I heard it was more of a college-town, someone correct me if I’m wrong. If that’s the case, then it probably comes down to matter of taste as well as freedom of studies.</p>
<p>Comparing the schools, I see 4 major differences (you can get into programs, and research, etc. but these are the high level differences). Which is better is idiosyncratic.</p>
<p>(1) Major city vs. college town
(2) Narrow focus technical institute vs. broad focus university
(3) High probability of employment in the South vs. Midwest (though both are recruited nationally and internationally)
(4) Cost</p>
