Does anyone know how much a normal German intern makes while working in Germany? I am from the US but I plan on interning in Germany in April. I need to know what is normal for my job search. In the US I make $21. I am a 5th year Electrical Engineering student. Any guesses? Thanks!

DS is a ''visiting researcher" post MS, CS. $2000/mn euros (maybe $2500 euros, his job-his problem). Does not include any expenses. Indeterminate hours, IOW, get the project done.

I am not really sure what you are saying? Who's job? What does IOW mean? Who is DS? That seems like a lot of money for an internship in Germany. Many Germans have been telling me that at some times interns are not paid at all?

DS=dear son
MS=Masters of Science
CS=Computer Science
his job=it is DS job, not mine.
IOW='in other words'

You asked. I told. I can't answer for other people's experience. I don't know what is "normal", I assumed that you were trying to build a data set to understand what to expect. If you have Germans, who have experience, telling you that the internships are nonpaid, then you should probably expect that compensation.

Personally I see no reason to get an internship in Germany that pays $0, when you could get an internship in USA and possibly get paid. His computer-mechanical skills can be accomplished anywhere. He is not specifically in Germany for the experience but is in Germany because he followed his mentor from his previous USA internship. DS only continuing previous work in Germany.

He is working on a project of his mentor. Mentor wants to get the project done and son is striving to accomplish assignment. Such is Technology.
