Getting in to Catholic University of America

Hi, I was wondering what my chances are of getting into CUA in Washington, DC. I have a 3.2 unweighted GPA and a 4.1 weighted. I rank in the top 20% of my class, mainly because I take very difficult courses (Honors, High Honors, and AP courses). I get mainly As and Bs, although I have gotten a 77 and two 79s in a High Honors math course. This upcoming year, (junior year) I will be taking a duel enrollment course through UMass Lowell. I am a three season athlete and a member of National Honor Society. I have not taken the SAT yet. Please let me know what you think my chances are!

So far so good. I think your chances are good as long as your test scores fall within CUA’s range.

Also, check to see how competitive the program is that you want to apply into. Make a visit and introduce yourself to the chairperson, and maybe some faculty who teach freshman courses. Also, make yourself known to admissions counselor who is assigned to the high school applicants in your area.

I think you’ll get in. I was accepted with a 3.3 in standard classes.

Just curious, did you receive any merit scholarship?

You will get into CUA with your GPA.

You will get in, and you will get a scholarship (probably around 10,000 academic). I attended there and had similar stats to you, and I am now a school/college counselor.
