I studied English,Physics, Chemistry (A Grade), and Maths(B Grade) at IGCSE. I will probably complete my A-level in oct-nov2015 with Applied ICT, Maths and Physics (I'm hoping to get A grade in at least two subjects).

What if my SAT and SAT subject test scores are high (2100+ and 700+)?. I've had been participating in loads of extra curricular activities (debates, sports, drama and the rest). I also have participated in some voluntary work e.g. participating in awareness walks etc.

What chances do I have of getting in an ivy school? I really want to go to Yale. If i don't have good chances, what should I do/study to increase my chances?

Why Yale specifically? I just raise this question because I see a lot of kids on CC talk about “wanting to go to the Ivys” - and although some of the Ivys are similar, others are night-and-day from each other. So your chance of getting in to one of the Ivys, if you are a competitive applicant in terms of your application package, is to be truly interested in THAT school – dig deep into the school, be able to talk about the unique things at the school that specifically are the right fit for you. So many kids just mass apply to the Ivys. I have seen kids that are over-qualified get rejected and I have seen kids that are just “average” in terms of test scores, etc. get accepted because they were able to show that one Ivy why they LOVE that school.

^that’s SO true, and it gets worse if one applies for FA. Well if he doesn’t, it shouldn’t be super difficult(still harder than applying as a domestic applicant)

Also, if you want to go to Yale just because of the name value , you must do a thorough research on other schools as well. And…based on what you said about your ECs, I don’t think your ECs stand out at all.

sawyertom: read more, post less. Standout ECs? There are 5000 posts about them. Use the search functionality. But to be frank, if you need to ask, you probably don’t have them.

“You think that kinda scores are hard to get?” 2100 SAT is 97th percentile. I don’t know if your question is hubris or ignorance. Either is poor form.
