<p>How can I get into MIT?!? It has been my dream school since I was ten years old! What extracurricular activities and summer programs do they look for? Is it absolutely crucial that I have a 4.0 GPA? I will be starting my freshman year in September so I would really like to start preparing! Please help!</p>

<p>^ Seriously. You should get into a school that suits you, not make yourself suit a school. Do the activities you enjoy, apply, hope for the best, prepare to go somewhere else (because the chances are low for anyone). I, for one, did no science activities and didn’t get a 4.0, and here I am :)</p>
