Getting into Musical Theatre

I am going to be a sophomore in high school and am starting to consider MT as a career. I have previous singing experience, but no theatre or dance. I know, I'm crazy. Everyone else has known they loved MT since they were like 5. I just finished a summer music program and am doing an opera one in a few weeks. I'm enrolled in intro to theatre next year and plan on auditioning for the musical and probably the play too. My question is, what dance class should I take? Jazz, ballet, or modern dance? I have very limited previous experience. (Dance class at music program is it.) I also just started piano lessons if that's relevant. I plan on auditioning for community theatre productions as well as school ones. Can I really gain enough experience in my remaining years of HS to possibly pursue musical theatre in college? Or even vocal performance? Or do I need to give up and major in something practical.
