Hey guys,

I'm a first-semester freshman Software Engineering student and I'm seeking advice on what to do as a freshman. My university is very large and it's a bit overwhelming because there's so many clubs, organizations, etc. I plan to go to graduate school but I may start working after I get my bachelor's and go to grad school later.

I have not had the chance to attend any club meetings or anything because of conflicts with classes and settling in as well, but now I can manage my time better. So what do grad schools and employers want to see from an undergrad? Like how many clubs should I join or what should I join? I'm not sure if just joining clubs related to engineering/compE is sufficient for now? When do I start looking for internships and participating in research? I'm really lost..

My first 2 years of high school I was not involved at all because I didn't know any better, so I do not want the same thing to happen in college!

Any help is appreciated, thanks!
