Getting Involved in Admissions

I am an incoming freshman..

Are there any ways to get involved in the Admissions Office on campus?

What about giving campus tours, what is the process like to sign up?

Can freshmen get involved at all?

WM Admission could probably answer this best ...

they send out emails and publicize for tour guides… tour guides are all volunteers and the process is very competitive. When I was there I think they took something like 20% of the applicants.

Tour guide interviews occur in October and November and those are publicized via email, Student Happenings (a twice-weekly email that goes out to all students) and fliers on campus. It’s rare for freshmen to become tour guides although a few do each year. The bulk of new tour guides come from the sophomore and junior classes.

There are numerous other ways to volunteer with Admission. Check out http://www.wm.edu/admission/undergraduateadmission/studentgroups/opportunities/index.php
