Getting Rid of All the Computer Viruses

the first step you got right is that you admitted you were computer illiterate. that's fine. not everyone is tech savy when it comes to these things. however since you can acknowledge this fact, why not just hire someone to do this for you? you could easily mess things up on your computer.

also your computer should have brought some sort of CDs that bring software, Windows, drivers, etc. Most companies I know that I've dealt (Dell, HP, Gateway, Apple, IBM/Lenovo) have these discs available for sale if you call them up. It depends where you bought your computer.

Ok my dear friend.
If your computer is affected by Win32, or worms. Then ready to reformat your computer.
If your computer is affected by rootkit. Hooray! Just be hardcore with your firewall and prepares to reformat your shabby windows after a while.
If your computer is infected with trojans. Then congratulation! Stop watching pornos and you will be fine :)

Lastly, if you want to get rid of the viruses, here are two options.
repartition your hard drive.
install linux

If you want to prevent further virus infection.
Install Ubuntu linux platform.
I'm using Ubuntu now. It's free, it's safe, and it is AWESOME!

From your description it seems that your computer is infected by Trojans, AdWares, and worms, which is like the Big Mac Super Size combo.
Your computer is f..ed. That's all I can say about it.
Your memory is doubled because of the worms and adwares. They suck up all your memory. Worms destroy every exe applications there are in your computer. (and YOU CAN'T FIX THEM beside reinstalling those softwares) that's why your computer is ultra slow. AdWares tell you to use their softwares to scan for viruses, that is in fact a virus. If you pay for those softwares, man, your credit cards and life in general will be ruined like your computer.

computer does that all the time. i just copy all my files to D and then reformat C drive

Okay, limited time special offer
I present you the state of the art operation system.
It is virus free, it is user friendly, and it does not cost MONEY at all!
For the last decade, freedom fighters all over the globe have been fighting against the hegemony of the windows system. And this new product is the spearhead of their new waves of attacks on an already outdated NT interface.
This new weapon is:"UBUNTU!"
Ubuntu Linux is free of charge, you can update for free, you can listen to music, you can do whatever your windows can do!!!!!!

What's more! NEARLY ALL SOFTWARES ON UBUNTU ARE FREEEEE!!!
YAYAYAYAY
If you buy OpenOffice, you can even use Windows application on UBUNTU!!

WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR! UBUNTU NOW! ARE YOU READY?

If you get a virus on Ubuntu, then you are advised to do some lottery the next day.

SLACKWARE! cue distro flamewar

I didn't know linux distros hired advertisers lol. But yeah, if you're willing to learn a new OS but don't want to pay any money, Ubuntu is probably the best option.

Mac would probably be better for you though since you describe yourself as computer illiterate. Linux (even Ubuntu) involves some amount of literacy.

Ubuntu involves a lot of tweaking to get working. A lot of things people take for granted are not available out of the box such as MP3 or DVD playback.

Honestly, best solution is to get a Mac.

^ Agreed. Unless you have a tech friend.

Btw for future reference, you might want to install all of your important programs and files on D, so when you format C you'll just be formatting Windows and won't lose all of your stuff
