You can go to gibson.tulane.edu and click on the forgot user name and password link, enter your email address and they will send your log in information. But we were not able to get any more info than cruxclaire. It’s progress though, so be patient as Linymom says.

I did as kreativekat suggested and today I logged on and saw that my application was complete. Yay! Now all I have to do is wait…

I did the same thing and received this message.

Undergraduate Admissions (2013 Fall) :Incomplete/Items Outstanding
Your application is incomplete. The following documents are needed to complete your file.
Please submit these documents as soon as possible or contact us at (800) 873-WAVE or undergrad.admission@tulane.edu if you have any questions. If these documents were sent recently, please check back in a few days, as it takes time for us to receive and process student information.

I don’t understand. I sent everything and it doesn’t tell me what items I still need to send, just that my application is incomplete…

Could be a couple of things. Most often they still need something from your high school that is out of your control, except to the extent you bug them to send whatever it is (transcripts, guidance counselor rec, anything else they might have to send). Another possibility is that they have accidentally created two files for you and do not realize it, so they need to be merged.

Therefore the best thing to do is e-mail your admissions person at Tulane (you can find out who takes care of your area by looking at [Tulane Admission: Meet Your Counselor](http://admission.tulane.edu/counselors/) and use the section on the right) and tell them exactly what you said here and ask them to please let you know what they think is still missing.

So strange. The GC had DS call Tulane admissions yesterday and they said they weren’t downloading apps for two more weeks…

My daughter had received a message that application was complete on Gibson and then a few days later below it …that it was incomplete…She called and they checked her file and it was complete…so system glitch

Does anyone know when they’ll start releasing decisions? Going off last year’s decision thread it seems as though people started to get their decisions the 21st of October. Can we expect to find out this soon? Sooo nervous.

I would think it would be around the same time, give or take a few days. I will just give the same advice as last year (and the year before and the year before that…). You have done all you can, so just take a few deep breaths, try and relax, and stay busy with anything that will keep your mind off of this.

No matter how Tulane turns out for you, this time next year you will be someplace meeting lots of new people, surviving mid-terms, having fun and being glad you are where you are. It will all be good.

Thanks fallenchemist! Do you think that the problems with Gibson will have any effect on the timing of the release?

No, I really don’t think so. Seems like there are some issues like this at the start of each cycle. Not sure why it isn’t smoother, but the timing is always pretty much the same. I expect people will start indicating they are hearing back soon.

The only thing that I always wonder is if they will change the timing some to try and get a better read on who is likely to enroll, if that is even possible. The reason I say that is that they just announced today that the class sizes for 2011 and 2012 were 1642 and 1641, respectively. The target number was 1550 for 2011 and they were hoping to actually get it closer to 1500 for 2012, but Tulane is hot!! That is also reflected in the average SAT score of 1338, the highest in school history I think. Anyway, the point is there are capacity issues that have to be a concern, I would think. So while this is a very difficult thing to control, I feel fairly confident they will really try and keep this class down in size.

But there is no indication that will actually affect the timing of decisions. If anything, I would think it will just be harder to get into Tulane, and there might be more deferred into RD. But that is just me guessing, time will tell.

D got her Gibson’s ID today. Check your e-mail, maybe.

I also officially received my Gibson login today too.

Thanks for alerting us. I will have DS check his email when he gets home.

I received my as well today. I hope we all receive an admissions decision soon too…Best of luck everyone!

DS logged in and they are still missing info from the HS! It was sent 9/19. GC is calling today to check. Anyone else have everything sent this early and still have an incomplete application?

LINYMOM, My Gibson says that my application is incomplete, but I called the admissions office and they said it was complete. That’s probably what’s happening for you.

They are probably still updating the info. There is always a lag between the time they get physical documents (as you might imagine they come in all the time during application season) and when they update a record.

When there is a glitch, the most common error I have seen is when two files get created for one student, and some of the info is in one file and some in another. That makes the file always look incomplete, until they merge the files. So it is always a good idea to ask admissions to double check if you think a file has had time to be updated.

callie: Yes, that’s exactly it. GC called today and they said they have everything. Now the real waiting begins…

Hoping to hear some decisions this week!

D hit send on her application today (yeah!). She received a email confirmation that had log-in info but when she tried it to log into Gibson, it did not work. Anyone know what is going on?
