Gift from junior class to incoming freshman?

My daughter is an incoming freshman, who moved in this past Wed. Right now it is Customs Week. She told me that yesterday, the junior class gave a gift to the incoming freshman - which was one of those stress squeeze-ball things… ?!? Finding the implied message that goes along with that quite stressful !! Anyone else have any thoughts about this ???

I prefer to read the message as, “We’ve got your back!”

I think it’s a nice gesture. I remember getting all sorts of free stuff during Custom’s week, but none of it dedicated from another class.

Despite the worries and misgivings, I just want to update that, my daughter is absolutely LOVING everything about Bryn Mawr. Now, a few weeks into her freshman year, she feels extremely comfortable, confident, and supported in every way by the community she has found there, and is loving her classes, professors, and everything else. I’m the one who “forced” her to visit and consider Bryn Mawr, and a few days ago she sent me a thank you text for that…it really seems to be a great place in every way, at least for her!!

That is so wonderful to hear, splokey! Thank you for sharing an update. I’m thrilled she is enjoying this new experience and is pleased with her decision. I hope you can rest easy now as well! Though I’m now a junior, my mom STILL loves visiting campus. I hope you’ll be able to see your daughter later in the year when she can give you a “true Mawrter” tour. I wish both of you the best!
