I am narrowing down my college search and I was wondering if there were any colleges that especially like Girl Scout Gold Award (roughly the equivalent of Boy Scout Eagle Scout) recipients. I know that the award is a major accomplishment and’ is looked favorably upon, but I was wondering if anyone knew of specific colleges that like Girl Scout Gold Award recipients. I have strong academics and extracurriculars.
The only school we found that gave a top scholarship for the Gold Award (I believe it was a full ride) is Simmons College in Boston. Because I know how many hours/months/years goes into achieving the honor, I was a bit surprised that it didn’t carry more weight in the EC department. Certainly Eagle Award, which is arguably easier to attain, is held in higher esteem for college applications IMHO. Good luck in your search! And Congratulations on your Gold Award.
I do think colleges know about it. My D1 earned her Gold Award. We didn’t see any special scholarships or anything from colleges, but my D did earn a scholarship from our local GS council that was just available to Gold Award scouts. I think it was $2,500, paid out over her 1st 2 years of college. I expect that women’s colleges may give it more weight as an EC in general.
University of Evansville; Lipscomb University (Nashville)-- are two that come to mind that have some automatic scholarships for Gold Award/Eagle scout.

Thank you all for your input! I’m not really interested in scholarships, just more of schools that will favor Gold Award Recipients in the admissions process. For example, I know Rice tends to favor Eagle Scouts in the admissions process. I was wondering if anyone knew of any schools that favor Girl Scouts in admissions. Thanks again everyone!
