Giving thought to actuarial science/math

I'm currently a civil engineering transfer student.

I'm not in love with it really...

On the other hand, I really do not have any room to dither around, as I came back to school after an extended absence.

I've been giving thought to actuarial science. I could just switch to the actuary course, but honestly I'm thinking that I might just prefer to make it a minor type deal. I'm currently in Calculus 3 and will take Calc 4 in the spring. Do I have to take any stat classes or such?

To prepare actuarial exams taking math courses like Probability and Statistics as well as some Finance courses will be helpful. But from what I hear the Probability material on the exams are way harder than undergrad-level probability so self-study is important.
