I recently have discovered that I need to be on a gluten-free diet. I've heard that Midd has good food, but I was wondering if they have a lot of gluten-free options?

I don’t know the answer to your specific question, but as someone with Celiac disease myself, I feel your concern. I’m thankfully finding more and more options available wherever I go. Good luck and if you have any questions about living GF, feel free to PM me.

Call dining services; they will be able to help you; big question for college students: “Do I have to let the dining hall know in advance what I want to eat based on the daily menu?”

If the answer is “yes”, you have to decide (personal decision) if that set-up is for you…

On our tour, our guide mentioned that her roommate was both lactose and glutenintolerant, and had the further restriction of requiring Kosher meals! Apparently, there was no problem. But really (and especially as prospective MIDD student) for something this important you ought be able to figure out how to get an answer directly from the source…don’t think twice, it’s all right.

I don’t have issues with gluten, but I am a type I diabetic. I was diagnosed three weeks before I started at Middlebury. I could not have been at a better place. The health center was great in working with me and Dining Services did whatever they could to accommodate me. This makes me think that they’ll be extremely willing to work with you.
