Going back to school after getting a bachelors in science

Hey I’m am an environmental engineering student in south Florida. I will soon graduate with a BS. But I want to be able to obtain a second degree and I don’t want to do civil. I was thinking of computer, electrical or mechanical engineering. I want to know how would it work when I reapply with my same school and if the school will accept me or not let me re join. And if I won’t have to take some credits I have already taken.

The school’s policy on second bachelor’s degrees should be on their website. Some school’s do not allow it.

Why not that sounds dumb?

Are you an international? I’m not sure international students can enroll in another degree program without returning home and starting the application process all over again.

Students working on a 2nd degree can apply some of their general education requirements to the 2nd degree (the schools tell them which ones they accept), but they generally have to do at least 2 years at the college to earn the 2nd degree. Students can apply to schools to earn a second bachelor’s, but it’s expensive. US citizens working toward a 2nd degree don’t qualify for the same aid as first time undergrads. They may get loans, but few grants.

You’re already getting an engineering degree – is there a reason you couldn’t go for a master’s plus some catch-up classes, or something? Why do you want to redo the whole thing?

I don’t want to redo. I want to use all the credits I have in environmental like math and physics my 1000 or 2000 level courses and hopefully start with 3000 in another major. But I’ll have to start fresh with 1000? Is that what you are saying?
