Going for an another interview when I have a definite offer?

Hi all,

I am a senior who is graduating in May 2013.
I'm majoring in film and my department requires me to do internship in order to graduate.
(Career center is no help- students have to find them on their own)

So I applied to many film related companies and landed on 2 companies.
I will call them A and B.

Company A is a very huge, global company with many branches,
While company B is a small independent company.

I had interviews with both and A said they will contact me in a couple of weeks
but B offered me the internship on the spot.

I verbally accepted B's offer (I was scared that I would not get anything before I graduate) but I told them I can only start from 1/22.
They said I can bring my paperwork and contract on 1/22.

Today I finally heard from company A that I did not get the internship at the particular branch,
but they would like to refer me to another branch of theirs.
They told me to contact the other branch to schedule an interview ASAP.

So- I am very confused.

Should I just go with company B since they are expecting me in January?
or should I shoot for another interview with company A since it is a bigger company?

Please give me any advice.
Thank you!

It wouldn’t hurt to go to the interview for A unless it gets in the way of your starting date at B. At the same time, I would feel guilty though since B already offered the position to you lol.

Ah, it looks like you have made a very common decision among graduating seniors. I won’t call it a mistake since an offer is an offer, and it’s awesome that you got one!

That said, if I were you, I would withdraw from consideration at other places. It is important not to renege on an acceptance - even a verbal one. You wouldn’t want to burn any bridges, especially in an industry as competitive as yours.
