Going for business-where should I dorm?

Hello guys
Since Rutgers is my best option so far in terms of cost, I'm trying to see what I might be doing next year. I'd definitely go to the business school, but the whole concept of 5 separate campuses--each with different classes/environments, etc.--leaves me a little overwhelmed.

I think that it'd be best for me to dorm on the campus where most of my classes are located, but I don't think I'd like something too urban. To my understanding, my classes would pretty much mostly be on Livingston/Busch. Where exactly would most of my classes be? I've tried using a campus map too to find out, but that hasn't really helped haha

So if I were to go to Rutgers for business, but didn't want to go to one of the more urban/busy parts of the university, which campus would be good for me? I plan to also visit again for the open house in the April to see for myself, but it'd be nice to know what to look for when I actually visit.

Busch and Livingston are both quiet campuses; either one would be good for a business student who does not want to live on College Ave. If you are accepted to the Business School your freshman advisor will pick your first semester classes for you. My son lived on Busch and he had most of his classes on Livi with one on Busch. Next semester he had some classes on College Ave but it was not a problem.

If you want to choose your campus, your best bet is to apply for housing as soon as the application becomes available, otherwise, they will assign you to a campus based on availability. You cannot pick your dorm. Honors housing may be assigned differently.

Thanks!
I heard that of all the campuses, College Ave is the most busy and urban. I wasn’t sure just how Livingston and Busch were. I also take it that most business classes are on Livingston? And are Busch and Livingston within walking distance, or would the bus be a much more preferable option?
Thanks again!

Once you get to 2nd semester sophomore year, most of your classes will be on Livi. Before that time, you could be on any campus, because the general education requirement classes are all over. For ex., your English class could be on Livi, College Ave, or C/D; it’s not like the class you want will only be offered on one campus. It is also fairly easy to change sections of introductory classes like Expos as there are so many sections offered.

I sometimes see people riding bikes between Busch/Livi, but most take the bus. It is maybe a 5 min bus ride once you get on.

You should really go on the Rutgers tour that they offer: you’ll go on a bus ride that will travel between all the campuses, and they will take you into a typical freshman dorm (we saw Allen).

once you declare a business major, most of your classes will be on livingston. but that isn’t until your 4th semester. currently i have classes on 4/5 campuses. for the first year you can live anywhere. i would recommend livingston, the quads/towers are really social and you can meet a lot of people there. busch is ok too its a lot more studious and quiet. pretty much every campus is open to you, you’re going to have classes all over the place
