I'm now grade 8, now I'm considering to go to a university after one year of high school. I'm doing very well in mathematics and CS, I learned calculus in my grade 8 year. Can I go to a university without a high school diploma? Because I think it's waste of time

I want to study mathematics in a university

Most colleges and universities don’t take students that young, but Bard College at Simon’s Rock specializes in educating younger undergraduates. Google it.

Some high school students attend a nearby college or university for specific courses that they are most advanced in, while attending high school for other courses. If you are at normal level in non-math subjects, you may want to see if you can make such arrangements with your high school and a nearby college or university.

Those who are prodigies in everything may just start going to college. Here is an example:

(Summary: began attending community college at age 8, transferred to a state university at 12, graduated with a bachelor’s degree at 15. Note that California does not require a high school diploma to attend a community college or enter a state university as a transfer student.)

Most community colleges/junior colleges accept students with just a GED, and some 4-year universities do too.

You may consider taking college classes while in high school instead of dropping out entirely.

I dropped out, got my GED, and studied computer science when I was 16. I bombed because I was immature and socially unprepared, but I was the victim of a bad childhood/adolescense.
