You've been working too hard. If you can defer a year and keep your financial aid, fine. Otherwise, I think that you should just be a total bum and goofball this summer, then go to your great school in the fall.

I actually have been enjoying college much more than high school. Believe it or not, college has not been any harder than high school academically, at least for me. Plus, the vast amount of freedom and choices you have will be interesting. If you are attending a school that you like, which I assume, you won't have any problems. Just have a good relaxation this summer and go to the school with a positive outlook and attitude.

I think this is a really good post and very under-discussed in high school. All anyone discusses is who got in where. No one talks about the fact that it's hard to leave your old life and start a new one, even if it seems exciting. No one loves huge changes in their lives and kids who dont get to air their concerns and hear how shared their feelings are, feel very weird and alone. My older son felt very discombobulated during his first semester in college. There were lots of kids who felt the same way. I thought - why don't they talk in high school about what a big adjustjmetn this is?
