Do you guys know.......which college has better chance and send more their students to prestigious ChemE program in MIT or Stanford between WPI and UIUC? Thank you so much.

You’ve already decided you’re going to grad school before entering undergrad?

Nah, no you haven’t.

LOL
Hmmm
Well
You really don’t choose graduate program that way… by the reputation of the school. Very often you also have to look at the faculty… to find the right advisor. Of course if you are taking about non-thesis… or you are not interested in research at all… then choosing the best isn’t an issue.

Okay. Well. Either school will get you to MIT / Stanford. In fact every school has a chance to send its students to the best. My friend is going to Stanford with scholarship, and we aren’t even a powerhouse.

They don’t really care where you from because at the end it is your GRE and recommendation and other credentials which you have to submit to the graduate admission.
Choose the one you like, the one financial isn’t an issue, and the one where you truly like to be in.

Sorry, I know this question is imprudent, but all I want to know which college is more likely to encourage students to enter better institution? More specifically, do most of professors in either school write good rec letters? Or, can you list advantage and disadvantage of both schools, pls?

Thank you

Seriously?

UIUC is indisputably the stronger engineering school. However, WPI has good programs as well and I’m sure you could do well there. In general, I would go for UIUC unless a) you strongly prefer a smaller school, b) you strongly prefer the location of WPI, or c) there is a significant cost difference.
