I’m currently a junior in high school with a cumulative GPA of 2.8. It sucks, I know. But I’ve had a very turbulent grade trend. I had a dreadful Freshman year, yet I drastically improved Sophomore year. However, I couldn’t keep up this year so now I’m stuck with this number. However, I’ve been studying for my ACT for awhile. My goal score is at least a 26. So far, my practice grades have been more than exemplary. (30 in Math, 29 in English, etc.) I also am currently taking AP Composition, which I’m doing not greatly but not poorly either (C+ 1st. Semester, right after regular English II, by the way) and am planning on taking up more AP classes in the future. So, given this twisted concoction of satisfactory test scores, risk taking yet a lower than average GPA, what are my chances of getting into a decent college? I know Ivy League’s already out of the picture, but I’m talking about schools like Miami University, Ohio University, Loyola, Pace, etc. I’ve become very anxious about college after looking at my grades lately and would really like to know my odds.
