My D21 is taking calc BC and they don’t have a book - the teacher just leads them through some worksheets with sample problems and that’s all they have for reference when they are doing the homework. Does anyone have a recommendation for a good book she can use for reference for when she gets stuck?
Has she asked her teacher for a book recommendation? I would start there.
Here is a free one:

This might be a good resource: http://tutorial.math.lamar.edu/
As a math prof , that’s just nuts to not have a textbook . There are too many concepts that need to be understood and revisited, and students need to be able to know how to read math for understanding. I agree with the suggestion to ask the teacher first. If nothing emerges, or they’re using some nonstandard source, get a used calc text from amazon - can be an older edition. My preference is descending order are the calculus textbooks by the following authors: 1) Hughes Hallet Or 2) Stewart or 3) Larson . These texts are also recommended by the College Board AP Calc BC course outline.
Thanks for the replies!
Calculus by James Stewart. Get the cheapest one. 7th edition is like $10 or so on eBay.
OpenStax has a book free online. I can’t seem to link it here, but just go to dot org and you can find it. I have not used it, so not sure how it is, but the openstax texts I have used are reasonably well put together.
