Good choices for engineering and economics?

I am sorta confused about choosing between engineering or economics. So I am actualy considering to shortlist colleges who has strong programs in them and see from where I can get the best offer. Can you guys suggest me some colleges which I should keep as my priority. No preferred area, But um an international student, and i ll be needing some merit based and/or need based financial help as well. Here s my SAT score (Math:770, Writing: 590, CR-580).

Lehigh University is world known in both!, They have selective programs between the two colleges!

Your options are quite limited. There are very few schools in the US who offer aid to international students, and these tend to be the best schools and the best students. You don’t have the SAT scores to get into the best schools and we have no reason to think that you excelled in the classroom. Below are some lists of which schools offer FA to internationals. Begin searching thru these:

@jkeil911‌ I studied under the British GCE curriculam. I had 9 subjects in my O level exams which I appeared in one sitting. My results was all straight A’s. In my As level exam, i had 4 subjects where i scored straight A’s as well. I know my SAT isnt well, in that regard I had only one week of study time to prep for it. I am going to sit for it again this Oct. Hoping to do quite better. Thanx for your suggestions, looking through it.

Good stats, as I understand them, and I’m glad to hear you’ll be re-taking the SAT. While you’re studying for that, you can make a list of all the schools from the three websites and then check to see which ones have both engineering and economics, and then of those check which schools you can get into with the scores you have now. Then make another list with the SAT scores at 1430, 1490, and 1530 (only the CR + M score are of any real interest). Surely a Brit with your wits can score better on the CR. I know there’s a language barrier but…

Stanford, MIT, and Princeton are great in both, but getting in to any of them are very hard. Also, they don’t offer merit aid (others can tell you about their fin aid).

A step down is URochester, which is very good in both and quite a bit easier to get in to. They may give you some merit aid if you raise your SAT score (though may still be pretty expensive).

Minnesota-Twin Cities is good in both econ and engineering but even easier to get in to. You also may only have to pay in-state tuition there. Google “gold global excellence” scholarship.
