Good colleges with good FA?

Hi everyone,
I was wondering what colleges I should be looking at that might give me as much FA as possible, preferably close to full ride. I have a 2270 SAT from sophomore year, ECs are average, I’m homeschooled so my GPA may not hold as much weight but it’s above 3.6. I live near U of Cincinnati and Miami U, so I’ve got those on the list, but could anyone point me in the right direction for other places to look at?

One thing to consider is your family income. Will you be eligible for financial aid based on your parents’ income and assets? How much can they afford to pay? Run a net price calculator for schools you’re interested in and see.

You might look at Denison, Wooster, Earlham. None are likely to do a full ride but all offer good merit and need based aid that might be less than Miami and UC if your family’s financial situation merits it.

Miami offers half to full tuition for that test score and gpa, but that still leaves fees, room and board.

Thanks for your input!

Close to a full ride?

Are you looking for a large merit scholarship?

Or are you low income?

what are your parents saying about how much they’ll pay each year.

Be sure to take the PSAT as a junior.

I’m going to be a senior this year, so no PSAT. I’m looking for a merit scholarship. I’m not low income, but would definitely have to take out a loan, and, needless to say, don’t want to get involved with a lot of debt.

bump! Our income is ~65k and if I bring up my GPA to 3.8-4.0 what range of schools should I be looking at?

You can only borrow ~&5500/year on your own. Check the link in post 2 for scholarships. There are threads pinned to the top of the financial aid forum that might be helpful too.

I checked out the FA forum and it has definitely helped, thanks!
