Hi, I’m a nervous student applying to college this year. I’m also an international, provided my GPA is somewhere around 3.9 unweighted and my SAT score is 1500/1600, which schools would be good for me?
I’m looking to major in computer science, but also would like the freedom to explore other areas of study. I also need financial aid (not a full ride, just enough to help my family manage).
When are you planning on starting college? Fall 2018?
Also, for folks to give you suggestions, what other things are you looking for in a college? Things like: size, location in US, location near a big city/small town, other activities you would like to participate in etc
Also, have you discussed with your family how much they can contribute? So you have a number $ amount to work with. Some college/univ don’t offer international studies any financial aid.
For strong computer science, flexible curricula and good financial support for international students, look into Hamilton and Grinnell or some of the other colleges listed here:

As an international student seeking aid, it might be best to concentrate on colleges at which your scores would be near or above the 75th percentile, or at least over the 50th percentile.
