I’m an incoming freshman at the College of Letters and Science at UC Berkeley and I’m planning to major in Political Economy. I also have a large interest in journalism, and I am planning to take that on as a minor. I do want to pursue a double major, but I’m not sure what goes well with Political Economy. At any other school, I would major in Poli Sci and Economics, but Cal has a major tailored specifically for that purpose.
stick with your minor, take some fun electives and learn new stuff.
The only reason for doing a double major is if there was another area that you were so interested in that getting the double major just naturally fell out of the electives you were taking. You should have the interest first, and then that turns into a second major. There is no reason to start with a goal of a double major.
