Good enough??

Will i be able to get in with a 3.4 uw and 3.6 w and arou nd 1250 SAT

Lots of EC’S

Freshman year: Honors Geometry and English
Sophomore year: Honors English
Junior year: Honors Pre-calc and Physics also Uconn/Ap Micro and Marco economics
Senior year: I plan on taking Uconn/AP Spanish and Honors English

Questions:
Are you in-state or OOS? This is important.
What specific EC’s and did you have any leaderships? Just because you had a lot doesn’t mean you actually did anything. It may just show you were looking to fluff your resume with EC’s (not saying you did this, but this may be how the admission committee interprets this fact).
What are you looking to major in? UMD CP has “limited enrollment programs” most notably their Business, Criminology, Biology/Chemistry, and Engineering.
Have you visited and/or have any connections with school faculty?

These are all questions that the admissions committee would be asking themselves when reviewing your application.

Overall, I’d say you have a <40% chance of admission. Your GPA is a little on the low end for UMD, and your SAT would definitely need to rise depending on what you major in if you want a solid chance of admission. You’re definitely eligible enough to apply with a chance of admission, but I certainly wouldn’t bank off of this school as a safety. I’ve seen people from my school get denied from there with a 4.0W and a 1300 SAT. Sorry for any shock this may have to you, but just trying to give you unbiased/hard facts.

@piffthemagic_dragon I am OOS, I am planning to go in as Computer Science or undecided and I was president of 2 clubs, NHS, and 200 community service hours. I know what you mean UMD is a hard school, my top school is Uconn anyway but UMD is a school im really considering especially since I loved it when I visited, if you could chance me for UCONN that be helpful too lol…
