Is it deleterious in anyway for a counselor to mention about a particular disease than the applicant has, and how the applicant has persisted in spite of it? I'm already talking about it in my main Common App essay, so is there a point?

bumpity bump bump

as long as the counselor evaluation shows the real u, it’s completely ok hehe

Yes, if you have overcome a significant obstacle, your counselor should mention it, even if you have already written about it. It reflects on your character and that is what they are asking him or her to opine on.

Thank you very much! I was just over-thinking I guess.

If it was something that held you down a bit, coming from your counselor will have more weight. By all means mention it in the essay, but it will not be harmful for it to be in the recommendation, it can only help
