Hi, I was wondering if its actually possible to get a 3.8 in either of the schools with studying. I have been hearing a lot about the horrible grading curves and am a little worried about the prospect of getting a good GPA to carry on to a good grad school. Anyone with experiences at either schools care to share your experiences?

Yes, it is certainly possible to get a high GPA at Berkeley if you have decent ability in your subjects of study and good study skills.

Definitely possible, but can be a bit tricky when you’re competing with so many smart students. I’m at Cal, and at least for EECS classes, most classes are curved to a B/B- average. It’s usually not too bad, if you can focus and keep up with the classes.

Thanks for the replies.

How about research opportunities? Are there any open to undergrads? Are they possible to attain or only left for the overacheivers(cough…asians…cough)
