I've been scoring like 730~760 on Math section of practice exams, and was wondering if there were any good books I can buy that will help me get 800 on GRE math?

Thanks

By practice exam, I mean 800score.com. I score around 780~800 on some of the easier tests like Kaplan, Barrons, Powerprep, or Princeton review.

Nonetheless, I have heard real GRE is significantly harder than practice exams, so scoring low on some of the exams makes me anxious.

Any good prep book for quantitative section would be appreciated.

Hi, Sang54 - too bad nobody has replied to this thread, because I was about to create one just like it! I have 2 math-devoted practice books, by Kaplan & Barron’s, and will begin tackling them for the next few weeks. I’ve pretty much mastered the verbal, so that’s next.

How have you been doing with your studying?

I actually found kaplan’s practice tests harder than the real GRE. I scored significantly higher on the real one, at least.

Is your problem with the math having enough time? Or maybe there’s a certain concept that you’re having issues with? If timing is the issue, you should probably just continue doing practice tests until you can speed things up just a bit.

You know what I find funny? In the latest REA GRE prep book, it states flat out that negative exponents won’t be on the GRE. Yet in a GRE prep course I took this summer, we went over them a lot.

So: are negative exponents on the GRE?

Yes. They are.

CaseSpartan,

When you say the Kaplan practice tests, are you referring to the Kaplan Math Workbook?

Nova’s Gre Prep has a great review of math and a lot of practice questions.
I also recommend Math Review for Standardized Tests

I STRONGLY recommend the Nova Gre Prep book and the Barron’s book.

Use the Barron’s book along with ETS’s math review PDF as your beginner resource. After that, finish the Quant section of the Nova book.

If this doesn’t work, nothing will.

If you’re in one of their cities, the GRE Bootcamp Math Review can be helpful: [GRE Bootcamp Math Review](http://GREBootcamp.com).

GRE big book and POWERPREP are the best. check [GRE Preparation Books-Mission GRE](http://www.missiongre.com/grebooks.php) for GRE book reviews

First of all, a physical copy of the bigbook is hard to find. The ones floating around online only have the verbal and for good reason–the bigbook quantitative is too easy.

Powerprep + ETS math practice pdf file, Barron’s as a starter, and Nova GRE Prep Course or Nova GRE Math bible are the way to go.

I agree with mastermoe…nothing in the market can beat nova gre math.
