Good/Great place to eat lunch at VT?

<p>I'm excited to be taking my son and daughter to tour VA Tech next week. We have a morning tour. Does anyone have any suggestions for great local places to have lunch besides fast food? </p>

<p>I would definitely try one of the dining halls on campus so you could experience the food. It’s really good!</p>

<p>The Cellar is a really good local restaurant that is about a five minute walk away from Squires. You can get a burger and fries for about $11. They’re menu is here: <a href=“http://www.the-cellar.com/”>http://www.the-cellar.com/&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

<p>If you don’t mind driving for about five minutes, there’s a Japanese Sushi shop called SAKE House. I usually get the Bento Box with an extra egg roll. They’re menu is here: <a href=“http://www.sakehouserestaurant.com/”>http://www.sakehouserestaurant.com/&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

<p>Right next to Sake House is popular grill place called Bull and Bones. They have you’re typical burgers, steaks, salads, etc. </p>

<p>I would stick with something you can walk to so you can get a real feel for Virginia Tech-one of the dining halls o campus or a place like Mike’s Grill or The Cellar Hope you have a great visit! .</p>

<p>If you are going next week, not all of the dining halls will be open. West End Market and Turner Place will not be open. D2 will be open. We ate there once on a visit and enjoyed it. <p>Seconding the Cellar. It’s one of my favorite spots around campus. It has really good specialty (greek style especially) pizza and pasta. PKs has good normal style pizza. Sharkeys has pretty good burgers/fries. Rivermill has excellent burgers and the best tater tots I’ve ever had and they are the food item I miss more than anything from Blacksburg. Sycamore deli is an excellent hot sandwich place, and Soulvaki is an excellent Greek sandwich place. </p>

<p>If I had to pick one it’d be Rivermill, and if I had to pick a second it’d be The Cellar. Also everywhere I mentioned is within 5 minutes walking distance from campus.</p>
