<p>yup it was a good estimate. i'm just surprised that stanford biosciences still rejected 30%. i'm sure each home program is different though.</p>
<p>Oh, it says personal statements are the least important part of the application. Although my major is not bio, I'm a little confused because it seems that adcoms in general might not consider personal statements to be as important as some applicants think. I've heard statements are one of the most important parts of the applicaiton...</p>

1. it's not something as fancy or creative as a college essay
2. most of them are not written the way the adcoms expect</p>
<p>I see, then that is understandable.
I found out that many applicants make a mistake in writing their SOPs, like writing in a style that is almost like a resume.</p>
<p>But I cannot help wishing that adcoms pay some attention to applicants' SOPs, because I spent a large amount of time polishing mine...</p>
