What do you mean a tequila recipe? You mean drinks to make with tequila? Or distilling your own? lol

The process of tequila begins when a blue agave plant is ripe, usually 8 to 12 years after it is planted. Leaves are chopped away from its core by a "jimador" who assesses the plants ripeness. If the plant is harvested too soon, there won't be enough sugars to do the job. Too late and the agave's sugars will have already been used to form a once-in-a-lifetime stem "quiote" that springs 25 to 40 feet high so that the seeds grown at the top of the stem can scatter with the wind. The jimador's task is a crucial one; once he decides that the plant is ready, he wields a special long knife known as a "coa" to clear the core. The cores or pi

lol looks like hotelie's r good friends to have =p

Non tequila region agave drink is called Mescal btw, that's the stuff that sometimes has the worm at the bottom.

Ducky: If you meant drinks tequila can be used in, my personal favorite is a Grateful dead. It's kinda like a Long Island Ice Tea, only tastier and more alcoholic:
1 shot or part: Vodka, Gin, Triple Sec, Tequila, Light Rum (All of the major clear hard liquors)
On top add a shot or part of Chambord (A rasberry liquor). This drink tastes fantastic, and as you can tell it ****s you up (35% alcohol). If you want to dilute it a bit, you can add a splash of sour mix (though this is only to make it less alcoholic so your guests don't start getting naked, it barely tastes alcoholic at all)

Edit One more interesting tequila fact, the most popular read cheapest tequila is actually not really tequila. Jose Cuervo Gold for example (world's best selling tequila) is actually considered a "mixto tequila" because it is only about 50% blue agave and contains color additives (more expensive colored tequila gets this color from being aged, typically in oak barrels). Try the 100% agave tequilas sometime, much better then that Cuervo bottom shelf crap.

thx mrnova. thats wat i was looking for.

but thanks to hotelschool, i can now attempt to make mescal!

lol

and mrnova i use sauza tequila. i like it.

Sauza is good. Also try Patron and Cabo Wabo (Sammy Hagar's Tequila!) I'm not a huge fan of tequila except in well made Long Island IceTs and Grateful deads. I'll do shots only in groups or when it's a body shot off a girl (my favorite method of ingesting tequila). I'm more of a Whiskey, Brandy, Vodka person.

im not a big fan of whiskey. but brandy and vodka...hells yea

Southern Comfort is a glorious drink. Tequila isn't my first choice, except on my birthday, cinco de mayo.

askin this out of curiosity...what % of Cornell's student community by the time they become sophomores would have never touched an alcoholic drink...beer included

SoCo, a peach flavored bourbon liqueur, subset of the whiskey :)

what % of Cornell's student community by the time they become sophomores would have never touched an alcoholic drink...beer included

None, those that attempt are either flogged in public or transfered to the psych department for intensive study.

what!
None, those that attempt are either flogged in public or transfered to the psych department for intensive study.

Arjun you should relax, you're way too anxious. Try some Vicodins or Xanax.

whats Vicodins or Xanax?

arjun,

take morphine. trust me ;)

u know evanescenteuphoria, morphine has awesome analgesic properties...when ibuprofen, naproxene or Aspirin fails...they give morphine

Which reminds me of various war movies, including Saving Private Ryan.

"Medic!!! Give him some morphine!!!"

Arjun.. you'll drink sometime in college... I was like you in Year 9, all tight about it, and then in Year 10 I was just like 'what the heck...'. At first alcohol tastes horrible (except spirits), but after a short while you get used to it, and really makes you have an awesome time. I'm never taking drugs though, they've been offered at least 30 times by mates and I can still claim that I've rejected them every single time.
