thanks for the luck tim! i'm definately saying my daily prayers. haha i'm applying to notre dame and then my safety is a mental institution in virginia. just kidding...but seriously

Tim_ND08!!! Nice to have you back! I followed all your posts last year -- you're such a positive person. Are you enjoying life at Vanderbilt? I do hope so -- what a great school.

Good luck everyone. Was out to ND on Halloween and went to the grotto and said a prayer for all of you knowing the EA deadline was looming. My daughter and I always thin back to the stress of those deadlines and waiting for that big envelope which when you receive it is a thrill of a lifetime.

Tim are you loving school? I hope you won't be cheering against us too much in a couple of weeks.

Tim,
How are you doing at USC? So many of us on this board followed your hopes and dreams over the past couple of years. I think that I speak for many in that we would love an update on your life! Please advise.....

USC is an absolutely wonderful institution and Im loving every single second of it. Im pretty sure Id love any school that I went to, but SC is pretty special.

Im double majoring in Business administration with an emphasis in Marketing and public policy, planning, and development with an emphasis in commercial real estate development.

Im also pretty sure im going to be traveling to Galway, Ireland to study abroad my junior year. The office of overseas studies here is quite amazing.

Classes are tough... wouldnt believe how many smart ... crazy smart kids are here.

Social scene is intense... already seen a few kids get caught up in it. Definitely something that USC has over ND.

I still convince my roomie to let me watch ND football on saturdays.... THANKS NBC!

i still have that blue and gold in my blood... and my passion for notre dame still lives strong. I wont lie.... somedays I really wish I was at Notre Dame, but most days I am so happy I am here.

Unless something drastic happens... Im pretty sure I will be staying. I have an amazing scholarship... in a great fraternity... and everything is starting to fall into place.

I cant wait to go to ND for the SC game next year though! it will be ahhmazing. This will be the first year that I haven't been to the campus in prob 9 years.

I hope everyones freshman year is going great! .... or your son's/daughter's.

Go Irish... and Fight On! (ps. way to sneak it out against navy.... what a game!)

Tim, So thrilled to hear the fantastic update! I am so glad that you love where you are! With your incredible attitude and obvious smarts, you will go so far in life! Couldn't be happier for you!

I think it was about 18 degrees at ND this morning! And when you and your friends are having a great time partying it up at USC, think of how you could be in Res Life for that type of activity at ND!

It is all meant to be and as trite as it sounds, I think most end up where they truly belong.
You are making the most of what you have and are taking advantage of what is presented. I truly wish you the best and keep us posted!

What about this year at SC? and for that matter how do the games at SC compare to the tradition here at ND? are the games as intense? are the students as loyal? while we are admittedly struggling a bit here at ND, when tate, floyd, and JC are on fire there's no stopping them and we are a force to be reckoned with. next year should be even better. but yeah it is pretty embarrassing when we can barely beat Navy, but hopefully Charlie can turn things around and regain some of the prestige that ND football seems to have lost.

anyway, as for the game at ND next year, who are you going to root for? at some point you have to decide where your loyalties lie because when it comes to the ND/USC rivalry there is no middle-ground...you have to choose a side. GO IRISH, BEAT SC!

Domer.... I meant go to the ND campus... we've been making yearly trips for as long as I remember.

The games and gameday are a bit different. USCs campus is flooded with people on gamedays. However... the distinction between local south centralites and USC alum is a bit mixed. Its a lot of fun... and we love our trojans but that mystique that you have on november day in south bend just isn't the here. We head into the stadium right before kickoff and most leave by halftime when we are up 80 points.... unless we are playing stanford...

The one thing I really dislike about USc is our lack of college town. We are 3 minutes from the heart of downtown LA and we are surrounded by a very low income neighborhood. There's just not that feeling of a whole town shutting down on gameday to come cheer on the hometown team ( I got this feeling in bloomington big time) There's no college shops... or bars.... and any of that "university drive" atmosphere that only amplifies schools spirit and collaboration.

Nd football is on the way up, domer. Hopefully... the talent is there. I have yet to cheer against Notre Dame so I dont really know what I will do. My loyalties lie with the university of southern california because this is where I go to school. I love notre dame... and I love notre dame football....... i even sport a notre dame shirt here and there around campus. There is a gray area....... Itll be a win-win situation!...... unless some big losses happen and SC finds itself ranked number 3 and in the hunt for the N.C. game. Then its BEAT THE IRISH!

any of you guys planning on heading out to the game??

The loyalty of the students is very strong... The Trojan Family isnt just some saying, its real.
