Good schools for English majors?

Hi,

I am currently an undergraduate student looking into school options for my bachelors. I am looking for a school that meets the following criteria:

1.) Has a strong English/creative writing program for people pursuing their bachelors
2.) Cannot be Ivy League
3.) Has nice scenery/older architecture

I know the latter seems like an odd piece of criteria, but I love schools with older appearances.

Any recommendations of schools for me to look into would be fantastic.

Thank you.

Sarah Lawrence College (NY)

What can you afford and what are your stats? Kenyon would be ideal.

Vassar College.

The University of Rochester has an outstanding English Dept.

Oberlin College. English is the most popular major there when I attended and its creative writing program is great from what I heard from classmates who pursued it.

William & Mary

Some of these mentioned are over 50k/year!

university of iowa nuff said

Johns Hopkins. Top 10 English Dept, #2 ranked creative writing program, and stunningly beautiful Georgian campus. Many people mistakeningly think of Hopkins only for science and engineering. It has very strong humanities departments.
