Good Schools for Me

Hello parents! I was wondering if you all could help me establish a list of colleges, so far I'm stuck on reach schools. I am really interested in the sciences and right now I want to major in bio or go premed to be a pathologist, but that might change. I dont really have any preferences on size, i just want to feel part of the school and be involved all 4 years without necessarily joinign a sorority. I live in CA and dont really want to go to school in San Diego(where i live). I'm a junior and would REALLY appreciate your help! here are my stats so you know what would be a reach or safety!
Sats: M-770 E-630 W-700 total-2100
Sat Subject: Biology-730 Math2-700 Spanish-750
Act: Math-34 English-34 Reading-28 Science-36 Writing-33(10 on essay) overall-33
GPA: weighted- 4.3 Unweighted- 3.9
EC's: same job for 2 yrs, spanish honors society, soccer
Summer programs: spanish immersion prgrm for 1 month, cosmos (university of cal summer program for science and math)
*might have elc (top 12.5% transcripts were sent to university of california office) , which is the top 4% of my junior class and guarantee's admission into one university of california school.

If you want to stay on the west coast: Pomona, Santa Clara, UCB, Reed

If you want a school where you'll feel a part of it... consider Smith.

By "stuck on reach schools" do you mean they are the only ones on your list or that you are stuck w/ matches and safeties and looking for help adding reaches.

Regardless. It may be worth it to explore UCD for top notch sciences and I second Santa Clara. Also Colorado College has an excellent science dept. and the block schedule seems like a really attractive feature. All three are full of students who are warm and welcoming and who are sure to help you feel like you belong regardless of you Greek status.

Look at Reed.

The top UCs are a pretty good deal for California residents given their ranking and programs.

If you're open to the UCs, you can consider UCLA and UCB. UCSD is really excellent for bio sciences but you've already said it's too close to home. UCLA is still southern California but it's far enough away that you won't be casually heading home all the time yet is convenient enough to make visits more practical. UCB's quite a bit further away but still a short and relatively inexpensive plane ride (or 8 hour drive). From your stats you should have a reasonable shot at them.

If you want to get involved join a student leader group or other similar groups. It'll get you more involved in activities and you'll meet a lot of people.

You have enviable opportunities given your stats.

I have three NMF nieces. One is at Santa Clara, one is at CMK and one at Pomona. The niece at Santa Clara is by far the happiest of the three with her choice. Pomona is an amazing incredible school but for my niece it can seem awfully quiet, and my other niece says CMK students drink WAY too much (that’s her report, don’t get mad at me) but the niece at Santa Clara loves everything about the school and seems to be growing in all areas of her life.

I also have a nephew at UCB who loves his science courses, and he likes the school overall, he just doesn't "rave" about it, but...hey, he's a guy! It's hard to ignore the quality and price of the UC schools!

thank you for those suggestions. TO clear it up more i only seem to be finding reach schools that i want to go to and are a fit for me and some safeties and matches would be Excellent! great suggestions
